On this OG thing, I’d like to give a shoutout to the people before me. Most importantly @dj.psyk for researching and sharing with me about hiphop. Which reframed everything I knew about it at that time. I also wasn’t the first to conduct hiphop freestyle classes. I was inspired by the class my bro Psyk conducted for a group of FB peeps at the first Oschool studio at the NTUC income building.

Psyk and David (idk his IG) are the people I see as my OG. Idk where to find any clips of David but I wish the new dancers in SG can watch his dance. Especially people from FB. Also shoutout to @dannyasitis who kinda “forced” me into it haha. I wouldn’t be here without these key people. 🙌🏽🙌🏽

You don’t have to stop the bounce just because a new layer comes along and you wanna highlight it.

Most drills in classes are targeted for movement quality and technique refinement. If you’d like to explore drills that trains more “against the grain” rhythm, drop me a DM and we can work out a few drills custom made for you. 💪🏽

It’s not wrong to do that but make sure you’re aware of your intention and not doing it out of habit 🤙

There are still other factors like your neck stiffening up when you’re doing strong movements and other components that involves your chest and shoulders.

But active and passive neck movements is a good basic place to start.
