Three tips to set up your brakes to reduce arm pump and maximise performance:

Delete the park rat steeze and run levers at an angle which is closer to horizontal than vertical. This helps to drop wrists and allows riders to better brace against braking forces.

Move levers inboard so you can pull them close to the bar without hitting the knuckles.

Have the bite point close to the bar so you can make a stronger fist with improved control.

Get this dialled, and you’ll brake later, ride stronger, and stay in control all the way down.

Four tips to help mountain bikers prepare on race day:

1) Do a full bolt check immediately after your last practice run.

2) Check your pressures to make sure there haven’t been any sneaky leaks.

3) Get all of your gear ready so all you have to do is pick it up and go.

4) Rest, recover and get ready to race.

Positioning cleats on mountain bike shoes requires a considered balance between efficiency, power and control.

To position your cleats for ultimate performance in gravity disciples:

1) Keep them slammed. This gets more foot on the pedal and provides better control.

2) Slide them all the way in for a wider stance that increases stability.

3) Drop the outside of the cleat back so less rotation of the foot is needed for an efficient snap out of the pedal when things get hairy.
