Spent some time at RenderCon 2026 this past week. Good to see old friends and meet some new ones. Brought my experiential design students from LCAD out to connect with the motion design community. All of my student use Octane Render, so I figured this would be an impactful event for them.

Rendercon was a mix of traditional workflows alongside AI workflows. Loved hearing the discussion of how to give artists more control at a time when everything feels a little out of control.
There was a morning side quest with a Hollywood hike with to test out some @vivobarefoot shoes. Easily one of the best parts of the trip. Talking shop in the great outdoors. Big thanks to Jules, @otoy , and @rendertoken for this incredible event.

A few years back, I stopped by RVCA to catch up with a friend and tour the space — what used to be my old stomping ground when the building housed Paul Frank.I played around with some test animations — nothing that went live, but definitely a fun creative exercise. RVCA’s branding has this clean, minimal aesthetic that I’d love to dive deeper into through animation. One concept I explored was for their high-performance athletic short, the RVCA Yogger. These shorts are seriously solid for training—I still wear them for yoga at SenderOne and workouts at F45. #rvca

Got to be quick off the line with these graphics.I got to create a fast flowing motion section for a @madtv documentary on Antron Brown.It’s always a blast to work my good friends @logana dave and combine our skills to make something really fun.

THE LIFE:
Antron Brown” tells the story of the racing legend and three-time NHRA Top Fuel World Champion. The documentary follows AB through several weeks of his life, exploring both personal journey and professional experiences.

A little over a year ago I got to create an animation for Union Binding Company’s Ultra Binding. The Ultra is an innovative binding with a cushioned sole and soft padding that creates a super comfortable ride.It was exciting to figure out how to animate the organic effects to showcase the soft areas of the snowboard binding.Working with CAD files doesn’t lend well to deformations, so many structures had to be rebuilt for animation purposes.Thanks to Union Binding Company and Sickboat for pulling me on this one.

For this project I created an animation that would allow for any of the 32 NFL teams to be matched up.This means I had to create 232 possible combinations out of 3 different base sequences.This allowed igloo to target NFL fan for each team all season long on social media and other platforms.This was a really complex project, but was also really rewarding.
