NEW | Over the next week we’ll be sharing some of the @manchesterjazzfestival highlights through a series of very special @lowfourstudio recordings.

Performing tomorrow (Sunday) at 1pm on the @firststreetmcr stage is Ghanaian-English guitarist, composer and producer @roryagreen. Inspired by his mixed-heritage background, Rory combines the sensitivity of acoustic instruments with infectious rhythms to create richly layered, atmospheric music.

FREE FESTIVAL: On May Bank Holiday Weekend (23-25 May), Manchester’s grassroots music festival Mews Fest is set to return to @gnwmanchester, as the much loved event marks its sixth year with its most expansive programme to date across various venues along the hidden gem terrace.

Free to attend with no booking required, the festival will once again take over Deansgate Mews with a packed schedule of live music across a mix of outdoor and intimate indoor spaces.

This year, organisers are introducing the first ever Mews Fest Fringe, which will run alongside the core programme and grow the event’s focus beyond live performance into a broader celebration of independent creative culture.

Across the weekend, more than forty bands will perform at venues including @lionsdenmcr, @lowfourstudio and @themewsmcr.

New for 2026, the Mews Fest Fringe (Sat 23 – Sun 24) will be hosted in a large unit within Great Northern Warehouse, which transforms into a hub for music, art and independent retail.

The curated area is designed to bring together Manchester’s wider creative community, with a specially selected mix of stalls, pop ups and showcases running parallel to the live music programme.
