Police arrested the superintendent of Longview Public Schools in connection with an ongoing investigation into an alleged sexual assault involving students at Mark Morris High School.
 
Police arrested Superintendent Karen Cloninger at about 9:26 a.m., according to the Longview Police Department. She faces charges of tampering with a witness, a felony, as well as gross misdemeanor charges of failure to report and obstructing a law enforcement officer.
 
“This investigation required a significant amount of time, coordination, and evidence review,” Police Chief Robert Huhta said. “We understand the significance this case has in our community and the concern it has created for students, families, staff, and the broader public.”

Beaverton Police say a driver was going over 100 mph on Highway 217 when they tried to stop him. He fled and eventually crashed into a TriMet stop. Multnomah County deputies are trying to locate the driver of semi-truck who caused a crash. Details: Link in bio

Many in St. Johns say the Portland neighborhood feels stuck in between — not quite where it was and not quite what it could become, either.

Roughly 4 out of 5 voters rejected the statewide transportation tax package, and Oregon lawmakers now face more pressure to find a long-term funding solution for roads, bridges, and transit in 2027.

“ODOT remains grateful that Governor Kotek and the Oregon Legislature worked together this year to stabilize core services through the end of 2027 regardless of the outcome of Measure 120,” the agency said in a statement.

Why did you vote the way you did on the measure?

Multnomah County deputies are looking for a semi truck driver after a hit-and-run crash on I-84 EB in the Columbia River Gorge. No one was seriously hurt in the crash.

The crash happened at about 9 p.m. on Monday, May 18 near Dalton Point Recreation Site.

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said they are looking for whoever was driving the blue or purple-colored semi-truck pulling a trailer, who pulled in front of the white-colored commercial water truck.
