Thank you for the pic @drmikeisraetel . Made my day. Would have been even better if I could have thought of something wittier to say in the moment than “please draw a double-ended cock on my protein bar” but, you know, win some lose some. But now I am 21g of protein short for the day.

Doubt you’d be able to get that close to him with a Stanley knife these days. Probably for the best really. A genuinely nice man.

TL;DR- WIP John not so fat no more. Aadam good.

A year ago today I was a lot bigger than I am now. I’ve been up and down before and got in fairly decent shape back in 2019 but then put it all back on again starting during lockdown. In late August 2021 I decided that I didn’t want to be a chunky monkey anymore so I signed up for 1:1 coaching with Aadam who runs @physiqonomics . I’d found his website a while ago when I came across his immodestly but accurately titled article “The Best Fat Loss Article On The Motherfuckin’ Internet” (Google it, it’s awesome). It was such a nice change from the normal shite you get from internet health & fitness content. Evidence-based, actionable, well-written advice. Without hokum or gimmicks but with pretty pictures and swears and funnies. I decided that I wanted to set a clear goal and deadline- get back to the size and shape I was in at the beginning of September 2019 (around 170lb) within one year. I started Aadam’s nutrition and exercise programme on the 5th of September 2021 weighing 16 st 6lb (230lb). Today I weigh 11 stone 6lb (160lb), overshooting my original goal by 10lb. A loss of 5 stone (70lb, 31.75kg, 3 tins of Key-Form) in a year and over a foot off of my waist measurement (14.5” or 37cm to be precise). During this time I also made significant strength gains. The year also included a really fucking annoying knee cartilage tear which had to be repaired with surgery so I couldn’t train legs for a few months and was eating at maintenance for 4 weeks to help with post-surgery recovery. I’d still like to lose a bit more and intend to keep going so if all goes well there may well be another self-congratulatory validation-seeking boast post next year depending on how needy I’m feeling then.

Oh yeah and here’s the seamless silicone matrix mould that goes on the collapsible neck core. Some funny shapes on it because some dickbag mudpushers like to sculpt their pieces and creatures with “natural”, “organic forms” that look “real” and “biologically plausible” rather than Audi concept cars with simple symmetrical shapes. There’s no accounting for taste.

I just thought this was pretty. Epoxy core for a creaturey bald cap. Decided to do split silicone mould rather than collapsible core. Can’t remember why. Cap plastic seam just blended off as far as I remember.
