#2 single “Dividing Time”

This year marks 10 years of Sad & Horny. The album you know with @domser and me on the frontcover.

What many people don’t know: before the album was released in 2016, there was an earlier version with a different title "The Fragile World of Fai Baba". That record was finished in 2015, but it was never released.

As part of this anniversary, I’m finally releasing songs from that original phase for the very first time.

“Dividing Time” is one of those recordings.

The song was created during one of the first sessions after the breakup of my former band. Together with @troxlerarno , I recorded the basic tracks live in a single day. All additional instruments were later added by myself.

A special part of the song comes from @__s_h___a___ , who contributed clarinet, bass clarinet and saxophone.

After ten years, it finally feels right to share these songs with you.

Um dieses Format regelmässig und gemeinschaftsorientiert weiterzuentwickeln, freuen wir uns sehr über Ideen, Vorschläge und Inputs zur Mitgestaltung!

10 Years of Sad & Horny: The Beginning of a Hidden Story

This year marks 10 years of Sad & Horny.

For many of you, this album still means a lot. For me, it was a turning point.
But what almost no one knows: before Sad & Horny came out in 2016, there was a completely finished album with a different title:

The Fragile World of Fai Baba.

It was recorded in 2015, mixed and never released.

After my girlfriend and band broke up, I pulled back. I wanted to rethink everything.
I played almost all the instruments myself. The first sessions were live with @troxlerarno on drums. Later came a second session with @domser . Same spirit: intuitive, fast, honest.

I went to New York City, where @tonebass mixed the whole thing.
And still, the album never came out.
(Except for “Christmas Time” which I didn’t even want on the album anyway ;))

In 2016, everything shifted.
My collaboration and friendship with Domi grew stronger. We started playing shows as a duo, building a new energy. Songs were reworked, new ones appeared, and out of that process, Sad & Horny was born.

For the 10-year anniversary, I’m opening this archive for the first time.

It starts with “Who’s the Leader of Your Heart,” featuring Arno Troxler on drums, @____v___i____z___on vocals, and @__s_h___a___on reeds.

Back then, I didn’t know where this journey would take me.
But I felt that I had to start over.

With this first release, a journey begins, back to the songs before Sad & Horny.

And maybe you’ll hear the album again with new ears.

None other than Mario Hänni and Domi Chansorn aka «Space Echo der Zeit» will be guiding us through this collective experience with two drums, followed by DJ Windows Explorer.

No experience needed. Just curiosity and comfortable clothes.

Space Echo der Zeit: This time as a duo, Space Echo der Zeit brings together drummers Mario Hänni and Domi Chansorn in a search for illumination within the eternal, repetitive currents of primal beats and shifting odd meters. A gripping, rave-like improvised adventure by two of the country’s most renowned drummers, where standing still is not an option.

Windows Explorer: Black discs spin in circles, talk back. No genres, no beatmatching just sounds that meet, drift apart, and move on, guided by the present moment.
