Crazy! Town! For the past few years I’ve been hyper-fixated on the beautiful, elusive, and powerful panda bear, and in that time, they’ve taught me so so so much. The ways they live, they ways they survive, and the ways they are conserved by humans worldwide. As a former animal planet kid, I’ve always wanted to work with animals in some capacity—first as a wildlife photographer, then I wanted to be an animal biologist up until senior year of high school but came to realize that I don’t have a talent for the sciences. Film has allowed me to enter the worlds I’ve only seen through screens, behind glass walls, and has open me up to its contradictions.

Thank you so so much @chickeneggfilms for believing in us and this project, and thank you to pandas for being pandas ♥️🐼

Enjoy a flashback to my first panda experience in 2004 in the last slide! To many, many more!

My film “Goodbye, Morganza” published today on @newyorkermag ♥️

I started working on this film in 2020 and 4 years later it’s finally available for the world to see! I never got the chance to meet my great-grandparents but through making this film it feels like I’ve known them all my life. They were passionate, warm individuals who built homes for the fellow Black people in their community who otherwise wouldn’t have been given the opportunity to own property. And even though they lost ownership of their own home, they were able to retain their light. I hope during these scary times my family offers everyone a little hope.

I’m so grateful I had the chance to work with and learn from all the amazing people who contributed to this film—sending hugs and kisses to EVERYONE! ♥️♥️♥️
