‘Best in show’ is now on @artgalleryofnsw celebrating ‘the dogs who inspire artists and their subjects in the Archibald Prize.’

‘From protectors (Dingo) to creative collaborator’s (Teena), grief companions (Cherry-Bomb) and loyal guardians (Tudo), these portraits capture the enduring bond between dogs and their humans.’

Spot my work, (the creative collaborator’s) David and Teena, on the wall 🐾

This work was a finalist in the Archibald Prize in 2020

‘Best in show’ is located in the orange hallway leading up to theentrance of the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes ✨

🏊‍♂️ Join us Saturday 11am @penrithregionalgallery🏊‍♀️ Katerina Asistin and myself will be in conversation with Joanna Gilmour talking about our works in The Pool Show. Following this, I will be one of the judges of a pool-themed cake competition (Wish this was my full-time job)🏊‍♀️

~Capra will be discussing Birthing Things in the Spirit: The Waterbirth, a 2014 performative work created with the Eaglevale Active Over 50s Aqua Fit team.

Due to life’s circumstances, Capra has recently been reflecting on death, loss and grief, themes that sit in poignant contrast to Birthing Things. In collaboration with @powerhousemuseum he presented the belongings of Marrickville woman Annette Kellerman, who toured the vaudeville circuit performing in large water tanks on stage.

In this new addition, Capra draws parallels between his late dog Teena’s ashes and the box that once housed Kellerman’s ashes before they were scattered across the Great Barrier Reef in 1975. He has not worn his signature “whites” costume since Teena’s passing~

I couldn’t help myself & had to see the Wizard of Oz at Vegas’ Sphere. Some moments feltlike I was experiencing the film for the very first time, taking me back to when I was 5.

The highlight would have to be the cyclone, everything suddenly went turbo and it was impossible not to be swept up by it. The forest scene was also breathtaking. I found myself transfixed by tiny details, like crawling ants or a spider weaving its web whilst the witch melted below. AI made everything more bonkers especially the newly filmed extras. All in all it was pretty strange and memorable.
