‘Best in show’ is now on @artgalleryofnsw celebrating ‘the dogs who inspire artists and their subjects in the Archibald Prize.’

‘From protectors (Dingo) to creative collaborator’s (Teena), grief companions (Cherry-Bomb) and loyal guardians (Tudo), these portraits capture the enduring bond between dogs and their humans.’

This work was a finalist in the Archibald Prize in 2020

In collaboration with @powerhousemuseum he presented the belongings of Marrickville woman Annette Kellerman, who toured the vaudeville circuit performing in large water tanks on stage.

In this new addition, Capra draws parallels between his late dog Teena’s ashes and the box that once housed Kellerman’s ashes before they were scattered across the Great Barrier Reef in 1975. He has not worn his signature “whites” costume since Teena’s passing~
