Times Square heard the message last night: the time is NOW to end youth homelessness. The Rally to End Youth Homelessness saw the Covenant House community show up in full force, making noise and demonstrating that through action we can make a difference for youth.
To everyone who came to the Rally or helped make it happen, your dedication is translating into safety for young people across the country. Special thanks to our presenting sponsor @kiausa, and to @delta for sponsoring the partner village – where @uniqlousa got supporters set up with custom swag, @lukeslobster, @starbucks, @drinkspindrift, and @getgraza fueled the rally with delicious food and beverages, and @macys handed out holiday treats.

Youth homelessness will triple in the next 10 years unless we do something about it now. CEO Bill Bedrossian is already seeing the affordability crisis reshape the landscape of homelessness.
First things first: our door is open 24/7 and there will always be someone there to greet you. Getting help from Covenant House is completely free. We welcome young people ages 18-24 from all backgrounds. No one is ever turned away without support of some kind, and you do not have to pass any tests, get a referral, or present any evidence that you are in need of sanctuary.
No matter when you walk in, your immediate needs are the first concern. At any of our sites, you will be offered a meal, a shower, laundry or clean clothes, and a safe place to rest — all before anyone asks why you've shown up. Most Covenant House locations have clinics on-site to provide immediate healthcare, and those that don't have partnerships with local providers.
The average length of a stay in our short-term housing program is 78 days, but everyone's timeline is different. You can leave and come back to Covenant House as many times as you need. If you choose to stay and participate in our programs, we develop an individual case plan to meet your specific needs and interests so you can begin your next steps toward a meaningful and independent future.
"When I entered the open arms of Covenant House, they lifted me up, cleaned me up, and directed me down the right path. I’m convinced I would have never redirected my life without them, and at 18 years old with almost a decade of repeated homelessness, domestic abuse, and nowhere to turn, they were truly my guiding light!" -Amy, former Covenant House resident

And we are proud that Covenant House is a place where they can find safety.

High school and college students across the country are graduating this spring.
Many are navigating homelessness at the same time.
People like Rhonda are there to help youth at Covenant House make it across the graduation stage, providing support, guidance, and the reassuring knowledge that they're not in it alone. Congratulations to every graduate who has gone through adversity to make it to this huge milestone.

Elijah came to @covenanthousenj after a winter sleeping in his car. Now, at age 24, he is a college graduate and is already working on his Master's degree.
The youth in our shelters have just as much potential and drive as anyone graduating college this spring. They just need the chance to show it.

Housing is what helps people overcome homelessness. Let's get people the help they need when they need it.
When young people find themselves with nowhere to go, we're here to help them get back on track. Our doors are open for all youth ages 18-24, and we have services and shelters in 34 cities across North America.

Kendra was one of those moms. Her family couldn't support her during her pregnancy, so she and her son Finn spent most of their first year together without a place to stay.
But as Finn's first birthday approached, Kendra felt it was important he turn one somewhere safe. She and Finn came to Covenant House.
Once she and her baby had the support they needed, Kendra thrived. She landed a job and got promoted to manager within months. She and Finn moved into our transitional housing where they finally had their own room. She started saving for college, where she plans to study social work or early childhood education.
For Kendra, motherhood started out hand in hand with homelessness. But homelessness didn't stop her from being the loving, generous, ambitious mother she is.
Instead of letting old motels sit empty, we're making them into housing!
With our partners @covenanthousecalifornia, 30 new units will keep vulnerable young people off the street and out of homelessness. Looking forward to more projects like this across LA County🤝

Working a full-time, entry-level job should be enough to keep a young person housed, period.
