Through data stream and surveillance feed, projection map and physics engine, CorpTech renders our collective body legible to machinic and organic processes alike: operating and operated upon, metabolized and metastasizing, sovereign and laid bare.

Room Within a Room: Mid-Residency Exhibition by Chelly Jin

Room Within a Room, a multimedia live performance and installation, begins with a simple act: remembering and re-membering. Drawing from childhood photographs, digital landscapes of Google Maps, recomposed floor plans of childhood homes and autobiographical memory indexing, the work explores memory as an archive in flux. Through installation and immersive live performance, the project asks: how or where is memory stored when our tools for remembering — from muscle to machine — begin to degrade? Over a yearlong process of recollection, Room Within a Room unfolds as both an interrogation of the cultural belief in digital permanence and a tender methodology of reminiscence; examining memory recall and the images reconstructed in its wake.

Join us for the opening reception at 5:00pm with refreshments and live music. Performance begins at 5:30pm. Approximate run-time is 35 minutes.
