A London-based DJ, writer, and founder of the acclaimed platform Untitled 909, Chanel was busy penning an article about the burgeoning European ‘low-end psychedelia’ scene around the same time that Wordcolour was launching TiHKAL. This prompted many chats about trippiness on the dance-floor, and meant that inviting Chanel to play our party was a no-brainer.

As a DJ, she builds sets that feel less like parties and more like spells - otherworldly journeys through mist, shadow, and sudden bursts of colour. Her sound drifts between hypnotic techno, psychedelic dub, and dream-heavy bass, stitched together with the care of a storyteller threading myth and memory. With roots in music journalism and PR, Chanel has long worked as a bridge between artists and audiences. As basic chanel, she carries this ethos into her sound - championing the subterranean, the psychedelic, and the subtle.

Tickets are sliding scale, so pay what you can afford starting at £7, but note the cheaper ones are limited availability so grab one asap.

Motorium 𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑒 • Basic Chanel b2b Caroune @‌Point Ephémère 🍃

The motorium live mixes have been a long time in the making, and we've finally found the right occasion to start the series. Here’s a glimpse of a three hour B2B from our latest event at the Point Ephémère, in which Basic Chanel and Caroune smoothly transition from deep drum & bass, to hypnotic dubstep and minimal dub techno, among other bass-driven curiosities. We are blessed to release their first b2b recording together, hopefully one of many more to come.
