So much for having an outdoor/feral/working cat to help control the rat problem lol.
Manzanita, it turns out, is the absolute sweetest boy you’ve ever met. He must’ve just been terrified in the shelter, because he is not in the least bit feral, loves treats and scritchy scratches, and has very quickly developed a tight bond of friendship with Checo 🥰

Exciting news!! We’ve adopted two working cats from the @westvalley_shelter! Meet Manzanita (white) and Tabitha/Tanooki (brown tabby - still debating the name with my 6 year old 🫠). They were both in shelter for a couple months and are basically feral, but my hubris still expects that they will come to love me eventually 😆
