I don’t know how many loaves of peerless Italian bread I bought there over the decades. Too many to count. So many seeded loaves, buns and “Sinatras,” and the occasional onion roll and chocolate birthday cake. Fair prices, friendly service. What an irreparable loss to the neighborhood.

It is very sad to see them go, but if the place has to go, I’m glad the owner is going on her own terms. I’m honored to have written this story for @grubstreet.
