I want to share a little piece of this scene from “A trip to Alaska” for two reasons. This incredibly talented woman @karlabacigalupo has some big challenges ahead, and as her director and friend, I know how much she thrives on diving deep into a character, embodying it, unlocking doors she hasn’t opened before. I know what being on set means to her, it’s the same as it is for me.
I’m a director who gives everything to storytelling. This is who I am. I direct people to become someone they’re not, but in a way that feels deeply empathetic and real. I write from lived experiences and from dreams I remember when I wake up. I’m drawn to the visually striking, but it’s the rhythm of everyday life and how we perceive it that fascinates me most.
Wishing you all the best in everything that’s coming, my dear friend. I can’t wait to share this short film with you.
