SP Grid is the secret behind @wblt.de’s unique interactivity on the pitch for DAZN Infinity League ⚽️

WBLT were tasked with adding new levels of interactivity and immersive qualities to the second edition of the DAZN Infinity League. Central to achieving this was SP Grid.

SP Grid’s unifying data and control tool proved pivotal in real-time tracking, lighting integration, and the deployment of dynamic visual overlays during the exciting event, held at Munich’s BMW Park Stadium.

A 192-beam hemispherical LiDAR sensor delivering 360-degree spatial coverage at 1.72 million points per second. The Grid Extension brings live point cloud data directly into Grid Studio, enabling real-time spatial awareness across any monitored studio environment.

Configurable zones in Grid Studio trigger events based on point cloud activity, entries, exits, dwell, and movement between defined areas. No markers. No wearables. No bespoke infrastructure beyond the sensor itself.

@pixera.one Grid Extension & SP Lens Playback Partnership 🤝

At @nabshow, we are back with friends at Pixera, showing two ways SP Grid and Pixera work together, and how they solve different problems.

The Pixera Grid Extension connects SP Grid to Pixera media servers at the timeline, layer, and parameter level. Cue control, opacity, speed, transport mode, screen position, and calibration marker management are all accessible actions within a unified show control workflow.

Separately, Stage Precision and @avstumpfl have partnered to deliver SP Lens Playback natively within PIXERA. Create detailed lens profiles and camera alignment files in Grid Studio software, export them in their native format, and load them directly into PIXERA. No conversions, no middleware. The lens profile captures intrinsic photometric data across the full zoom and focus range. The camera alignment relocates the tracking system in relation to the screen in the physical world.

SP Lens Playback is available now as an addition to your PIXERA license.

Open standards matter. We're announcing native OpenTrackIO support in SP Grid 🎉

OpenTrackIO is the @smpteconnect RIS OSVP open standard for camera tracking and lens metadata, a common language that allows any compliant tracking source to communicate with any compliant system, without proprietary translation layers.

The OpenTrackIO Grid Extension brings this directly into the SP Grid environment. Studios building pipelines around open standards can connect their tracking infrastructure to SP Grid without custom integration work, and that connection stays current as the ecosystem evolves.

For the VP and broadcast community pushing for open, interoperable production pipelines, this is our joint commitment to that direction.

We're announcing a Grid Extension that changes broadcast studio automation 🎥

SP Grid now integrates natively with AR 51's AI-powered markerless motion capture system. 9ms latency. No suits. No wearables.

But the capability that sets this apart goes further than tracking position in space. AR-51 can easily register and recognise specific individuals, assigning a persistent ID per person. That means Grid Studio software can trigger workflows not just based on where someone is, but based on who they are.

Lighting states that follow a specific presenter. PTZ cameras that move to the right talent automatically. Content and zone triggers that respond to a recognised individual, with nothing on their person at any point.

All logic and workflow management is handled by Grid Studio. AR-51 supplies the data.

For broadcast studios asking what production automation actually looks like without wearables, you have to see this in action!

Record once. Replay anytime.

Grid Recorder is an independent software for capturing and replaying camera tracking pipelines. It records raw UDP streams byte-for-byte alongside synchronised SDI video, preserving the exact relationship between image and data down to the millisecond. Replay sessions behave indistinguishably from a live feed, with no protocol decoding, no middleware, and no dependencies on the systems that originally generated the data.

Record a calibration session once. Run lens calibration passes as many times as you need, offline, without cameras, without stage time.

Replay recorded sessions to test content placement, timing, and effects in AR and VP environments without requiring studio time.

When something goes wrong, Grid Recorder preserves timing behaviour and data dropouts exactly as they occurred, so you can recreate the issue and fix it with confidence.

We have redesigned our camera calibration engine! The new automated calibration engine monitors and analyses tracking data continuously once initiated, allowing the engineer to move freely, capturing the space. 🎥

As the engineer moves the camera, the system builds the calibration as they go. Lens profile, tracking alignment, and spatial wall calibration all in a single continuous pass. Delivering a high-level calibration result 16 times faster in the new process!

For LED walls, a new spatial topology model means the system understands that panels are structurally connected. This directly addresses a persistent real-world pain point: minute variations in panel installation, complex curved configurations, and the surface mesh gaps that cause set extension feathering artefacts in media server platforms. This new topology results in an accurate and connected screen mesh, exportable for use in media servers.

A redesigned calibration interface completes the picture. As calibration progresses, feedback appears in the 3D viewport in real time with colour-coded status indicators. Camera positions are shown as preview markers in space. The state of the calibration is visible at every moment to guide the calibration engineer on where to spend time refining.
