All the kids in the Jungles (Baldwin hills) August st , came out to see the bigger than life child sweetheart @kimfieldsofficial who at the time was one of the hottest TV stars in the country (Facts of Life) Popped up for a meet n greet that had the neighborhood scrambling to get a autographed picture. These impromptu pop up’s with stars of that time were always common and orchestrated by the neighborhood Ice cream truck owner/ photographer Delroi “Candyman” Whitaker @whitakerimages who frequently brought everyone from Todd Bridges to Gary Coleman whom all lived overtop the Jungles, Baldwin Hills dubbed The Black Beverly Hills. This was our upbringing! LA’s Westside , where community activists ,(RIP T. Rodgers BPSN, One arm Muhammad 🕊️ect) musicians, actors , dreamers and the working class lived. And who amongst the crowd of dreamers? Young Ornette and Eddie Hayes AKA @aceyalone AceDaUno! 4808-4911 A

The tips we made paid for the zoom zoom and whams whams (candy, soda pop ect) from the Candyman. I.E black dollars recycled. #Innercitygriots
