Introducing OSHADI, a truly pioneering seed-to-sew brand and collective producing timeless collections shaped by a system of soil, fibre, people and process. Founded in Tamil Nadu, India by Nishanth Chopra in 2016, @oshadi_collective works directly with local farmers and artisans to cultivate regenerative cotton and create ethically made, plant-dyed garments. This brand is sustainable in every sense; each step of garment production - including harvesting, spinning, dyeing, weaving, block-printing and sewing - is completed within a short distance of Oshadi’s farm and other small-holdings in rural Southern India. Honouring not only artisans, weavers, and tailors but also the ground from which the cotton grows, the brand fosters regenerative farming practices and seeks to preserve indigenous crafting techniques by ensuring fair, equitable wages.
