@divide_evd è lo pseudonimo di Davide, metà del duo Syntaxism. La sua tavolozza sonora spazia dalla techno fantascientifica alla techno anni ‘90, caratterizzata da sequenze minimaliste, potenti pattern di batteria e un sound design meticoloso. Il percorso musicale di Divide è iniziato quando è entrato a far parte dell’etichetta Evod Music e, dopo alcuni anni, ha cercato di massimizzare la sua espressione musicale lanciando il suo progetto solista. Nel corso del tempo, è diventato co-proprietario della Evod Music, dove collabora con i fondatori dell’etichetta, Evod e Oisel, condividendo una visione comune della “techno”. Il suo talento gli ha fatto guadagnare l’ammirazione di numerose etichette (Warm Up, Semantica) che hanno pubblicato la sua musica nel corso degli anni.
@oisel_ fonde elementi moderni e old-school nella sua musica, dando vita a un sound caratteristico che si distingue per l’interazione tra elementi liberi e glitch e ritmi techno classici. Con un profondo entusiasmo per la musica elettronica in tutte le sue forme e una passione per la programmazione, è un esploratore instancabile di nuovi territori sonori e paesaggi musicali, utilizzando una vasta gamma di strumenti. La sua musica riscuote grande successo tra DJ e produttori affermati, ricevendo un sostegno significativo all’interno del settore.

The Gekiga Podcast is proud to present one of techno’s most singular artists today: the co-owner of the EVOD label and one half of the Syntaxism duo, DIVIDE.
With releases under top-tier labels such as Semantica, Mulero’s Warm Up Recordings, Fautzi’s FautSection, NewRhythmic Records, and Norbak & Temudo’s Hayes Collective — as well as his own EVOD label — Davide, aka Divide, has rightfully earned the admiration of all the legendary giants in the game today.
His frequent collaborations with Oisel have birthed a vision of uncompromisingly raw, lo-fi techno that reveals a textural lineage to his underground punk rock roots and ’90s techno affinity. By bridging the “divide” between the old and the new, and infusing a DIY mindset that rejects trends and high-production polish, Divide has crafted a sonic signature that simultaneously exists fully within, and completely outside, of today’s techno scene.
I’m personally so grateful for Divide’s contribution to the GKG Podcast. He has been one of my personal favorite producers for a long time. Today’s mix is one that I truly feel is one of the best I’ve heard all year. This set is a journey through the EVOD catalog (including tons of unreleased gems!) and the mind of an artist who stands firm in his commitment to his unique soul’s expression - an artist who is impossible to sway or influence by the false Gods of popularity.
