🧘🏼‍♀️Just as physical exercise helps us develop and maintain muscles & fitness, formal mindfulness practice helps us develop and maintain the “awareness muscle” in the brain. This aids in becoming more aware of what is going on in our direct experience (physical, mental, emotional), be more present in our life and the body and invite space and calm into our being. When practiced regularly, mindfulness can improve happiness, health and life in general: we develop resources to deal with difficulty and improve resilience. Full of tranquility and new insights after a 7-day silent retreat at wonderful Gaia House! Realizing how much dharma practice nourishes and supports me. So much wisdom from the facilitators and fellow retreatants. I came away with much appreciation for this body that carries me through life and keeps me anchored in the present moment.
