I arrived at 4:30 p.m. Strangers stood together in the dark until 7:30pm, waiting for the Buddhist monks. It was 27 degrees—icy and joyful. No one left.

We talked, listened, and shared a quiet hope for something better.
Then we sat in meditation, learning how peace spreads—
person to person.

Grateful beyond words for the venerable monks and their Walk for Peace, when it is deeply needed.

I felt very fortunate to witness the Walk for Peace on January 27, 2026.
They moved steadily and in silence—no speeches, no signs.
They were protected from passing cars, yet vulnerable to the ice beneath their feet.
They walked for peace, for healing, for all beings.
And that felt especially powerful at a time in the United States when peace is not something many of our cities are experiencing.

A family of five giant trolls have arrived at Dix Park in Raleigh NC.
Created by internationally renowned ‘recycle art activist’ Thomas Dambo, these larger-than-life trolls are both playful and thought-provoking. Built of reclaimed wood and tucked into the trees, the trolls invite visitors to ponder environmental stewardship and the importance of preserving our natural world. To learn more about Thomas Dambo visit www.thomasdambo.com

I had the pleasure of visiting 4 of them a few weeks ago and it was a magical experience❤️.
I look forward to going back to photograph Mother Strong Tail who we saw but the it was already  too dark to get a good photo. We never found Daddy Bird Eye because the darkness was upon us.
