1% for the Planet
We exist to ensure our planet and future generations thrive.
Last year was unpredictable. Our members weren’t.
Because of the committed businesses in our network, 2025 was the biggest year of annual certified impact in 1% for the Planet’s history. We certified $155 million in member contributions last year alone—bringing our total lifetime certified impact to $846 million.
Our movement is closer than ever to our $1 billion goal, and we’re ready to get there together.

Our network has already stepped up. And our lines are open for more to join us.

Hey Boston folks!
If you’re in the area on May 29, join us at the @wbur Festival at @bostonu for a fireside chat with our CEO Kate Williams and @goodr CEO Stephen Lease. Together, they’ll explore what it looks like to do good for the planet while building a successful business.
We can't wait to see you there 🌎🎤

What once was an empty hillside is now a slope scattered with cherry blossoms and Japanese maple trees 🌸
@trace_hair, a salon based in Japan, took their shovels and planted 160 trees in Kochi Prefecture’s Nakatosa Town. Now on its second year of a tree-planting tour, the member is creating the “TRACE Forest” alongside their environmental partner, @moretrees_jp.

Terrapin’s soul is rooted in Northern California’s stunning natural beauty. Honoring that, we’re excited to announce we’ve joined non-profit environmental organization@1percentftp.
Founded in 2002 by Patagonia’s Yvon Chouinard and his fishing buddy Craig Mathews, 1% for the Planet certifies and verifies that its members donate 1% or more of total revenue to environmental non-profits. With nearly a billion dollars raised thus far, 1% for the Planet doesn’t dictate who members give money to, so long as recipients pass a vetting process ensuring they’re above board.
Who should we support?
We have some ideas, but we’d love to hear which local environmental orgs are near and dear our community’s heart. We want this to be inclusive, so please comment / tag in the comments!
Also stoked to finally reveal this new Terrapin graphic from our friend @jer.collins featuring Mount Tam and the Bay Area’s iconic fog.

1% for the Planet Sessions is our invitation to step away from the digital noise and into the taprooms, cafes and creative spaces where our movement truly lives.
We’ve stopped by San Diego at @purenorthpark and popped down to Sydney where @purposelyhq.au made an evening of conversation possible as the community sponsor. Next up? Our team is headed to London, Seattle, New York and Berlin to wrap up the year of Sessions events.
Thanks to our generous 2026 presenting sponsor, @necessaire, and our impact sponsor, @liveprintingdotcom, who made this event programming possible ⭐

Have you ever wanted your city to be more bike-friendly? @peopleforbikes works with policymakers to help make that happen, supporting the development of more connected bike infrastructures across American cities.
Their team has tracked nearly 600 projects to completion in the last three years—with another 2,000 projects currently being supported. Through its City Ratings program, PeopleForBikes has expanded its “good for bicycling” badge from just 33 cities to 234 in six years.
“The environmental impacts of a world that has more opportunities to ride bikes can be monumental and we're excited to work with 1% for the Planet Business Members to continue accelerating this work to bring more bicycling infrastructure, policies, and data to the people who drive these investments in sustainable communities.”—Ryan Birkicht, Director of Communications at PeopleForBikes
🚲 It’s Bike to Work Week, so make sure to celebrate by riding to work alongside PeopleForBikes!

Spring is here in the Northern Hemisphere, and Trash Free Trails is well into their Spring Trail Clean Campaign 🌷
Their team removed more than 46,700 single-use items in the UK across the season last year, and they’re committed to making an even greater impact in 2026.
“We find if you're already heading out for a ride, run or roam, adding a trail clean on top of that activity can be a quick and simple way to make a difference, and going one step further by recording all the data about the type of trash you collect will contribute directly to the UKs first research project to help build a clearer picture of what’s showing up in our wild spaces.” —Sarah-Jane Brown, Digital Community Activator at Trash Free Trails

When we say we exist to support both people and the planet, we mean it.
1% for the Planet Member @oceanshalo is committed to keeping food out of landfills and redirecting surplus product to communities where it can make a real difference. To do this, they partner with @consciousalliance, a nonprofit building more just economies through food security efforts.
From holiday meal deliveries to year-round product donations, Ocean’s Halo contributed more than 26,600 pounds of food last year alone to Conscious Alliance—helping reach communities like Pine Ridge Reservation, home to the Oglala Lakota Nation.
“We’re turning surplus food into solutions every quarter. For six years, we’ve worked together to ensure that extra product doesn’t go to waste—it goes to dinner tables.” —Ocean’s Halo
