Seattle musician @tiny_vipers released her sophomore album, “Life On Earth,” through @subpop back in 2009. It was well-received, with outlets praising her captivating, hypnotic melodies as well as the use of space within her songs. The songs were vulnerable, bare, meditative, seemingly fragile, but still brought forth a poweful emotional impact.

The vision, filming and editing style of @nkaramanski, who joined our #Laundromatinee team for only a very short while, melded perfectly with singer Jesy Fortino’s sonic aesthetic to create this session.

Uscito in coda ad un 2025 affollatissimo senza far rumore e in punta di piedi arriva finalmente in formato fisico il quarto disco di @tiny_vipers nom de plume di Jesy Fortino cantautrice di Seattle che decide questa volta di autoprodursi dopo essere passata diversi anni prima dalla blasonatissima #subpop . Senza girarci troppo intorno “Tormentor” è un piccolo capolavoro folk tormentato e spettrale popolato da voci, chitarre, suoni ambientali e fantasmi interiori. 9 brani scarnificati di cristallina bellezza che sembrano arrivare silenziosi da lontano e nel silenzio si allontanano lasciando un profondo senso di smarrimento insieme ad un pugno di melodie spezzacuore. Se non fosse stato per il buon @vivianivasco che ormai mi conosce bene avrei ignorato questa meraviglia quindi grazie grazie grazie.
