I am so grateful to be a part of Episode 3 of Sharing Space by the @trevorproject and getting the opportunity to share my story of surviving Conversion Therapy as a minor. I’m honored that I got to meet so many amazing new friends along the way. It was a heavy, yet powerful day on set as we all shared our moving experiences with each other and shared our views on these harmful practices.

Much like the Trevor Project, I believe educating the public about this pseudo scientific practice is a huge part of preventing further harm to our community. We are actively seeing a resurgence of Conversion Therapy along side an increase of hate and violence against our community. These trends are highly concerning.

I’m so grateful that the Trevor Project dedicated the time and effort to ensuring that the newest episodes in the Sharing Space series were filmed despite their funding being threatened by the current administration.

I’m also so proud of Andrew, Junior, Elena, Darren, and Dr. Bobbie for all putting themselves out there. It wasn’t easy to be that vulnerable and we all went into it hoping to make a difference. We each should be proud of showing up for ourselves and the community we love so much!

Alan Chambers was just arrested by Orlando PD and charged with solicitation of a minor via computer, sending harmful material to a minor, and illegal use of a two-way communication device.

He’s also the former president of the worlds largest anti-LGBTQ organization, Exodus International. It facilitated so-called Conversion Therapy for hundreds of thousands of Americans over a period of almost 40 years.

A detective posing as a 14-year-old boy on Snapchat had been contacted by someone claiming to be a 50-year-old man named “John David,” with investigators connecting the phone number, Telegram account, and Snapchat profile back to Chambers.

Are we surprised that someone who abused thousands of LGBTQ+ adults and children would abuse again? Are we surprised that someone who has taken advantage of the vulnerable would do so again?

The American Medical Association and the American Psychological Association both state that so-called Conversion Therapy is abuse. I think it has been a terrible mistake for the leaders of the so-called Conversion Therapy movements across America have not faced consequences of their actions. The actions of Alan Chambers shows that he has been and still is a danger to youth and the LGBTQ+ community as a whole.

I hope that other leaders of the so-called Conversion Therapy movements, both inactive and active today, are investigated as well. I know I am not surprised that an abuser would abuse again…

I had so much fun performing in Percy Rustomji & Friends at HaHa Comedy Club last night in Burbank, CA! It was such a gift to be on stage with some incredibly talented performers! I’m still on cloud 9!

If you know me, you know just how much I love to laugh! So to share that gift with friends and to make new ones along the way is truly a dream! More than anything I had such a blast sharing laughs and a nip slip… or two! 😅

@metrolosangeles has given us the D and we rode it! @mochajayoffical says you should definitely ride the D too, especially if you like getting to your destination fast and efficiently.

I agree! As someone with epilepsy, I often use the Metro trains to get around LA! So I’m stoked for the D! This line makes so many areas and attractions so much more accessible.
