Free Palestine, stop the genocide and Ceasefire now!
As you may have seen across the world student’s having been holding protests and strikes in support of Palestine.
From the 24th May the students of Jagiellonian University in Poland have occupied part of the Collegium Broscianum as a response to the university’s passiveness in the crimes committed by Isreal against the people of Palestine. Visiting the city of Krakow I had walked past this protest many times on my way to the main square this not only caught my eye but the eyes of many tourists walking by. I had the fortune to talk with the students and hear what it’s all about and their experiences. They as many other students around the world demand real action from the their university in regards to Palestine! They occupy this area towards the main square in hopes to raise more awareness with the masses of tourists passing by everyday however this does not come without some backlash, as I was told about people walking by attempting to pull down or burn the flags hurling abuse at the students in protest however their faith will not break and they will hold strong till the demands are met. They refused to be ignored!
Their demands
1. Condemning Israel’s attack on Gaza and occupation of Palestine.
2. Breaks of cooperation with Israeli academic institutions, research centers, and companies.
3. Information about this type of organizations with which UW cooperates and their scope.
4. Boycott of Israeli institutions at the national and international levels until the occupation of Palestine is over; recognition of Palestinian rights to equality, self-determination and return for refugees.
