Okay, so Japan was pretty awesome.

Bullet trains, regular trains, hot springs, cold plunges, baseball games, waterfront concerts, secret bars, ancient castles, gorgeous mountaintops, heartbreaking museums, beautiful gardens, heavenly convenience stores. And that was before the beautiful @caseymcneill and I got a little adventurous.

We had some of the most delicious meals imaginable. I sat at the desk of Kawai Kanjiro. We ate oysters as big as my fist. I bought the last piece of art from the collection of a ceramics master. We rode bikes along the greatest cycling route in the country. I got a haircut from an old man who almost shaved my beard off, and returned a woman’s lost prized scarf to her before she got on her train. We got photobombed (more than once).

I laughed, I cried, I ate a lot of eel.

Like, so much eel.

I cannot wait to go back. There’s so much more I need to see.

Thank you to my teacher, the pottery genius @risaasama. The conversations I had with people wouldn’t have been possible without your help. Wouldn’t have gotten so many free drinks, that’s for sure!
