Expedition 33 X Avatar

I stumbled across Sylvans animation and instantly thought what if the Curator had Avatar the last airbender type powers. This gave birth to this animation, I feel like this is an homage to a bunch of inspirations I’ve consumed this year including demonslayer for that famous Tanjiro beheading Rui fight .

Had a lot of fun animating this and thanks so much for the collab opportunity and Oli for the sound collab!

I saw this beautiful 3D animation by @ave_espelita and knew I had to add some Cel animated FX.

Luckily I had some downtime in between freelancing and really enjoyed working on this, itwas a lot of fun to explore and experiment a bit again and also do some new comp FX.

If any 3D animators out there have personal projects they’d like FX added to, I’d love to do more of these kinds of collabs. This one was such a joy feel free to reach out and pitch me!

Started as a 2DFX explosion test and kinda spiraled into this. Got some really fun ideas for colour and comp if I ever go back to finish it—but honestly, learned loads just making it (and through other bits I’ve been on), so I might just leave it here.
