Volunteers installed 50 pairs of shoes in locations across the Twin Cities, where federal agents detained, shot, killed or committed violent acts against people during Operation Metro Surge.
Minneapolis-based artist Laura Migliorino came up with ICE Ghost Shoes 26: A Remembrance. She and her wife jumped into community resistance during Operation Metro Surge, but wanted to do something more long-lasting.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) questioned EPA Assistant Administrator for Water Jessica Kramer on data centers’ effects on clean drinking water.
During a hearing in the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, Ocasio-Cortez brought two examples of water from a Georgia community impacted by the construction of data centers.
Public opposition to data centers is hardening as overwhelming majorities of Americans now oppose construction of the facilities in their communities, according to a Gallup survey.
Thank you @msrachelforlittles for using your voice, platform and truly caring and loving ALL kids 🙏🏾

RP “It’s insane that @corecivic makes millions while children are being harmed at Dilley. It’s sick. Congress, please don’t support this! Let’s unite around the safety and well being of kids and close Dilley!”

The EPA proposed Monday to kill drinking water limits for four so-called forever chemicals set by the Biden administration in 2024.
The EPA said it will keep limits on PFOA and PFOS, the two most widely studied PFAS compounds, but will allow some water utilities to extend their compliance deadline from 2029 to 2031.
The rollbacks could delay or eliminate drinking water protections for up to 105 million people.
PFAS have been linked to cancer, thyroid disease, liver damage, decreased fertility and immune system damage.

Six years later and we continue to carry Sean with us in every space we enter. This article means so much because it reminds people that before Sean became a headline, he was our brother, our “Tucán,” our family.
Keeping his memory alive has never only been about remembrance. It has been about refusing erasure, fighting for accountability, and creating spaces rooted in love, healing, and community. From Sean Monterrosa Blvd, to the community library, to Tucán’s Day, we continue to build living reminders that Sean was here and that his life mattered deeply.
Grief has transformed into movement, memory into action, and love into something permanent. We carry Sean with us always. ❤️
