Children will get a chance to participate in discussion and activities whilst looking at the Shonibare’s works. This will be followed up with doing a printing activity after the visit.

The exhibition - Patterns of Power - closes on 3 June, and there is still time to step inside the world of Yinka Shonibare at The Arc, Winchester.

From richly detailed prints to large-scale sculptural works, the show invites you to slow down, look closely and consider how history and identity are told through image, pattern and form.

At its heart is The Crowning - a striking centrepiece that changes as you move around it, offering a different experience from every viewpoint.

Nature nurture in oil on canvas. This will be in The Everyday Exhibition at The Arc in Winchester. Link in bio. Colour is my thing and brilliantly we are twinned with my favourites the Scottish Colourist.
I say to my kids theres a pull almost in the stomach to a place, a call, a longing. I get it in a couple of place. One is Bath where I studied painting in my formative years and the other is in the Mediterranean coast. The first time I went on holiday to Majorca I cried on the way back to London – it was like leaving home.  Im a proud Londoner born in Lambeth and the child of Cypriots. I love my home in Hampshire but there is still this call.
 
Home is the title of many of my paintings along with nature nurture and is wrapped up in the calling. Is it an ancient home/identity or a feeling of the recent past? #rosieparmleycontemporaryartist #thecolourfactory_winchester #colourist #cypriot #hampshireculturaltrust
