It’s that time of year again….time for a Tides Of Winter show!6pm on Saturday @awakenwestseventh.We will have some new music to play for you, including this classic carol.We hope to see you there!

Thanks to the internet I got to play on some stuff for the band Ivory Realm from Japan.God only knows what Take this is of me trying to get this solo feeling good.

Loved every minute I spent playing on these new @elliscleve tunes. It’s so fun figuring out how to get this instrument to fit in all sorts of different musical contexts.Amazing singing and songs by Ellis, amazing tracks by @mrjohncleve, hip hop/R&B steel by me.

Working out a solo for the guys in @_nofret, a really cool band from Connecticut.I’m loving this guy’s voice!

There are still some tickets left for the Tides show at Awaken.We’ll play some old stuff, some new stuff, give away some cookies, sing some carols, Zach is going to play like 12 instruments at the same time, it’s going to be great.We would love to see you there!

@grovesroad has been inspiring me with her voice, lyrics, and stories for over 20 years and 13 albums.Making album 14 was more of the same good stuff.As usual I felt in over my head and grateful just to be able to hang around and make music with my friends again.She let me play some Pedal Steel on this absolute knockout of a song The Soul Of Things.Once again, in over my head, and grateful.

We had a great time last week helping @elishamarin release his new album Shining Out.There are a bunch of great songs on this record and here is a clip of one of my favorites.It’s a lovely little shortie titled Love Is A Luxury that I was lucky enough to get to record some bass and steel on.

Got the go ahead to riff over this long outro. It’ll get faded for sure, but it was fun anyhow.

Right before Christmas I was asked to record O Tannenbaum for an animated video.The instructions were: “The video is about an Xmas tree that’s hung over on New Years Day.So it should sound a little bit ‘off’, like you’re kind of drunk.It definitely shouldn’t sound too ‘good’.” Sir, you’ve come to the right place.

It’s not often I get to play Steel on an R&B track, but I did this week!He wanted an “R&B Pedal Steel solo”. No idea if that’s what this is, but it was fun to work out.I was definitely S-ing my P-s listening to all of the crazy chord changes go by in the beginning of the song, but (sigh of relief), the solo section was fairly simple.

I feel lucky to have been a part of this new EP from @johnmarknelson .Whenever John Mark asks me to play on something I immediately get excited because I know he is going to put together something special, and this batch of songs is no exception.He plays pretty much any instrument you can think of beautifully but, lucky for me, he hasn’t learned how to slay the Pedal Steel...yet.Do yourself a favor and check it out.
