Flying Object
An award-winning creative agency that helps connect brands to their audience, through campaigns, content and experiences.
Cutting edge science needs razor sharp creative.
There’s a lot of inspiring, mind-blowing and simply beautiful science out there in start-ups, scale-ups and public companies but much of this is explained badly, visualised boringly and treats the audience like robots.
As a science-obsessed creative studio, we’re on a mission to change this. Because great breakthroughs are both a huge source of creative inspiration, but also only the start of a company’s journey in a hyper-competitive landscape. Just because the science is rational, doesn’t mean it can’t be communicated with emotion.
So if your science is brilliant, make sure you communicate it brilliantly. (Need help? Get in touch!)
Work from projects for Universal Quantum, @googledeepmind , @abcamofficial , @wellcometrust
Flying Object is 10!
(How did that happen? What is time?!)
It’s been quite a ride…
🧠 Having a lot (a lot) of ideas
🖼️ Building installations at the Edinburgh Fringe, Westfield and err, Tate Britain
🎥 Filming in science labs, Ruby Wax’s kitchen and Düsseldorf (three times)
👀 Creating campaigns for the tube, university campuses, and every corner of the internet
🤝 Working with artists, playwrights, Bollywood stars, Tweeters, YouTubers, TikTokers and whatever you call Mario from TOWIE
Can we wrap that up in less than 90 seconds?
Erm no… but watch us give it a shot in the A-Z of Flying Object.
Thanks to everyone we’ve worked with over the last decade.

Money should flow. But too often, it gets trapped - in legacy systems, cross-border delays, and currencies that can’t keep up.
The result? End users are left waiting.
We made a film for BVNK, a stablecoin payments infrastructure helping businesses move money globally with speed, scale, and certainty. It’s the bridge between the old world of friction and the new one BVNK is building - where money moves as freely as it should.
The stat that shaped our strategy: 77% of small businesses would rather accept slower growth than apply for a loan. They’ve already decided it’ll be too complicated, too expensive, or they’ll be unsuccessful.
We set out to change their minds in the first TV ad for Lovey, the UK’s fastest growing SMB lender. Meet Baz and Daz…

Vintage childhood toys, an opera singer, a gummy bear flower bouquet: all features of an event dressed up in lace, where the attendees were given a beautiful new brooch to add to - or start - their collection.
A strange combination perhaps? Not for the 2026 Pinterest Predicts event at the Session Arts Club last week. We were brought on to bring some Flying Object creative flair to the event, themed around Pinterest’s 2026 trends report. A fantastic evening that we were very happy to be a part of.
Why not treat yourself to that new personalised stationery set to write to your friends about it - or leave your thoughts in the comments!

Here at Flying Object we’re regularly diving into complex subjects, learning everything we can about our clients’ products and industries.
We’ve worked with some of the world’s leading science and advanced technology companies, getting to grips with quantum computing, antibodies, protein structures, enzymatic recycling… the list goes on!
In this week’s bite-size blog (a new format we’re trying on for size) we’re jumping back into a blog from 2024 where we discuss how working with science brands has made us into temporary experts as well as sharing a few tips on how to approach such a mammoth task.

Shed a tear for the ones that get away...
For this week’s Scampi Friday we’re looking back to 2021, when we pitched for the experiential part of an exhibition all about pets 🐈⬛
We wanted to captivate visitors with a dense, playful environment where diverse stories would be waiting to be uncovered in surprising places and through novel media. We planned to curate, and bring to life a broad spectrum of pet tales through a range of audio, visual and sensory elements in varying combinations.
You can’t win ‘em all, but how often to you get to pitch an idea that involves putting speakers in a city made of hamster tubes?

We enjoyed our pancakes yesterday with a serving of… French language?
Delicious visuals from our 2023 ‘Feed Your Brain’ campaign with @quizlet 🥞
Feed Your Brain came to life across university campuses and in students’ feeds, through paid social on YouTube and TikTok, supported by digital out-of-home posters on 50 university campuses.
The campaign exceeded targets, increasing sign-ups by 19% over forecast. Unaided awareness increased by almost 4%, and usage of the app leapfrogged competitor Duolingo amongst our target audience.
Another excellent collaboration with our favs @picturesmith , @zeligsound & the team at Quizlet 👏
From sad cars to savvy sellers: a playful take on part exchange pain.
Part exchange is seen as the easy option for selling your car, but sellers lose £1,600 on average compared to selling with @motorway 🚗
So instead of showing yet another frustrated seller, we flipped the script in our latest campaign with the car selling platform, by focusing on the real “victims” - the cars themselves.
We created a series of animations that showed cars sobbing their way through terrible part exchange deals, while their oblivious owners waved goodbye to all that cash.
This unexpected perspective let us tackle the marketing message with a light touch, using funny stop motion videos to make our point more memorable.
Shoutout to Alex Crowley (@crowlersaurus) for collaborating with us on this one!

Nothing beats the delicious taste of seeing the idea you mocked up in the office come to life. So welcome to Scampi Fridays, our new look back at how original scamps did (or didn’t…) turn into actual stuff.
Today… snack on The #ScottishTwitter Visitor Centre, a popup experience from the good ol’ days of Twitter before You-Know-What happened.
Peruse the gallery, take in the timeline, or sit back in Gran’s Flat, a shrine to the matriarch of the community, the queen of our hearts and the maw ay oor maws.

In science, you need to play the long game.
Last September, as the university year began, we helped @abcamofficial celebrate everything academics do to keep moving forward.
Introducing: Labs and Ladders!
Using games as a visual and verbal metaphor, we showed how with Abcam’s high quality products, academics can keep their research moving forward:
For every ladder climbed there is a snake lurking.
And for every 6 you throw, there’s a chance of 1 next time.
But despite it all, you keep going. One move at a time.
PhD students and postdocs may be at the very beginning of their scientific life.
But by showing up at the lab each day, they drive progress - in their experiments, their careers, and in the pursuit of new discoveries.
To stay in the game, they need research products they can trust: high quality, consistent, reliable.
The physical board game — Labs and Ladders — was part of a larger digital campaign that went live across campuses in the US & EMEA, along with an on-campus experiential pop up of Game of Life Sciences.

“I like that my work is not bound to one single thing. People with one very particular creative talent fascinate me. Especially in music... I don’t understand how you can pick up an instrument and just come up with a melody on the spot. For some people I think it really is a gift.”
Our blog series ‘We Are Flying Objects’, is back for 2025 and to kick off the year we sat down with Annelise Keestra, Senior Designer 🛸
From open days as a teen at the École Nationale Supérieure des Art Décoratifs, to finding passion in her craft and learning to take risks as a designer, in this edition we cover all bases.
