Island of Hope

In Tanzania, where prejudice endangers the lives of those with albinism, Ukerewe Island offers a haven of safety and education. Here, Lina and her baby, Nixon, confront the harsh realities of societal stigma as Nixon’s father clings to destructive myths. When tragedy leaves Nixon vulnerable, the young father must navigate his deepest fears and the community's ingrained superstitions, fighting for acceptance and safety for his child.

After 2 trips to Ukurewe Island (Tanzania) with a 3 man crew, we crafted a short documentary about safety, albinisme, love and finding your place in this world.

In times like these, it's stories like the ones we found, that reassure me that the world will be okay, one way or another.
