Couch project is complete! Swiss spruce, coffee stained, linseed oil finish. I made this in a space with about an extra 1’(30cm) on each side, it was tight! And wood movement is real! I haven’t encountered it to this degree before and usually you would plane it flat after gluing up the panels but I left it wonky because they were already so narrow, lesson learned. Finally made myself a shaving horse. I followed plans from @greenwoodworklab but don’t have a tablesaw and used whatever wood size I had on hand… turned out pretty good, doesn’t quite fold up but besides being a good space saver I can also take it out to the woods and hopefully do some chairs soon with greenwood. These shots show some dry stool parts being worked from some offcuts out of baltic redwood. It’s rustic but that’s the point!
Finally made myself a shaving horse. I followed plans from @greenwoodworklab but don’t have a tablesaw and used whatever wood size I had on hand… turned out pretty good, doesn’t quite fold up but besides being a good space saver I can also take it out to the woods and hopefully do some chairs soon with greenwood. A table I made recently, Swiss Ash wood, hand cut joinery, hand planed. Legs and top can be dismantled and moved. Simple and beautiful.
