My name is Rebecca Pearce, and I’m running to be your next Mayor of Bowie, Maryland.

This campaign has been one of the most meaningful journeys of my life. To every person who has believed in me, thank you. And to those still deciding, I hope these words reach your heart.

I want to encourage all of you, especially our young people, to show up, be bold, and step into your power. We are not waiting for history. We are making it. We are the future, and this is only the beginning.

To our seniors, you are the backbone of this community. Everything we have, everything we are building, stands on the foundation you laid. As your mayor, I will honor that legacy every single day. You will always be seen, respected, and cared for. This is for you.

To our next generation of leaders, I see you. I am you. We are in this together.

I know my age has been a talking point, but it doesn’t define my ability to lead. Great leadership is never done alone. It is built through collaboration, humility, and a willingness to work alongside other great leaders. I will have experienced council members by my side, and together we will make Bowie a better place for every citizen, from our youngest to our wisest.

You can trust me with this city. A shift is coming, and the best is truly yet to come.

Thank you, Bowie. It would be the greatest honor to serve as your next Mayor.

Election Day is one week away — Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Each of these memories that I wear close to my heart have contributed to my story at Towson University. They have built me, comforted me and allowed me to grow without bounds. This journey is far from over, in 2 days I will be graduating with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a minor in Health Science.
