Positioned within an established Hawthorn streetscape, this new family residence was carefully designed to sit comfortably alongside the surrounding period homes while expressing a distinctly contemporary architectural language.
A restrained material palette of off-white brickwork, blackened steel and natural stone gives the home a quiet permanence, with the crafted masonry playing a defining role throughout the project. The layered brick detailing, deep reveals and rhythmic colonnade required a high level of precision on site, achieved through close collaboration with the architect and skilled trades across every stage of construction.
From the street, the home presents with softness and familiarity, while internally opening into a series of calm, light-filled spaces defined by proportion, texture and detail.
A considered build where craftsmanship and architectural intent are equally prioritised.

Detail and precision continuing at our Malvern Project with the integration of Vitrocsa glazing systems.

The recessed window and door frames are designed to sit seamlessly within the architectural form, requiring close coordination between structure, waterproofing and glazing tolerances throughout construction. Each opening is carefully prepared to ensure the final installation achieves the intended minimal appearance and refined junctions.

Working closely with the architect and supplier, significant attention is being given to execution at every interface to maintain the integrity of the design.

A process-led approach where craftsmanship and detail resolution are fundamental to the outcome.

The stair void at our Malvern Project is beginning to take shape, designed to bring natural light deep into the centre of the home.

A large overhead skylight draws daylight down through the vertical volume, creating a calm transition between levels and enhancing the sense of openness within the interior. Executing these spaces requires careful coordination and precision, particularly through the junctions, plaster finishes and concealed detailing that give the architecture its refined simplicity.

Rendering progressing at our Malvern Project, where the strong architectural design is beginning to fully emerge across the rear garden facade.

Deep reveals and expressed framed openings create a sense of depth and solidity, while the recessed Vitrocsa glazing systems are carefully integrated within the structure to maintain the clean architectural language of the home. The combination of rendered forms, precast concrete elements and finely detailed glazing requires a high level of precision and coordination throughout construction.
