Last night marked a milestone for Virginia MOCA. We celebrated the first major program of our inaugural exhibition—Nina Chanel Abney: The Pursuit of Happiness—and we couldn’t have imagined a more fitting way to mark the moment.

Virginia MOCA exhibits and celebrates contemporary artists—those living and working today, making work about the world we live in. We couldn’t think of better examples of that than the two people who shared the stage with us last night.

Thank you to our incredible partners at Virginia Wesleyan University for being such gracious hosts, letting us borrow their beautiful theater for the evening.

Join us for an on-stage conversation between Nina Chanel Abney and Pusha T on Thursday, April 16.

Grounded in Abney’s exhibition The Pursuit of Happiness at Virginia MOCA, this dialogue brings together two influential voices in art and music to explore culture, influence, authorship, and what “pursuit” means today.

Moderated by Stephanie Sutton, media personality + TV producer.

Tickets go on sale at virginiamoca.org on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 12:00 PM EST. Availability is limited.
