She got bruises on her wrists
Cause mama’s gone

Maybe she loves me

One more hour till the sun has to go

Freshly mowed lawn, sweet grass,
raspberry/chocolate, JanSport backpacks
Hot summer rain, kissing frogs,
fluorescent lights, lightning bugs
Ribbons, trophies, and funerals,
Smoking weed in abandoned homes
7-UP and kickflips

and then the peaceful comedown
scratched and scabbed,
laying on wet concrete

With my bloody limbs,
I can feel again
I found the flower
buried in the weeds
