Forcefield Art Space presents “Overspray”, a group exhibition featuring progressive local artists working within and beyond graffiti culture. 👾

“Overspray” lives in what escapes control, where spray, surface, and movement collide. Rooted in spray can practice, the works trace a shared language shaped by repetition, proximity, and presence. Drips, fades, and residues are not accidents, but records of many hands moving across the same field, where excess becomes form and the wall becomes a collective ground.

Shelf Life II

Shelf Life II brings together a new wave of local toy designers working at the intersection of custom culture and urban art. Rooted in underground practices, the exhibition highlights objects that move beyond play each piece reflecting street influence, personal narrative, and DIY experimentation.

From reworked forms to fully original creations, these designer toys carry the raw energy of the scene they come from unfiltered, collectible, and constantly evolving. More than display pieces, they stand as artifacts of a growing community shaping its own visual language through form and material.

Presented by @Forcefield.Artspace at @Hideaway.HQ, Shelf Life II celebrates the artists pushing custom culture forward where the streets meet the shelf.

Lowbrow Art means “art for the masses”—art that doesn’t require the high context and history of Contemporary Art, allowing you to simply and directly see and collect the beauty, cool, crazy, and cuteness of the work.

This time, we’ve gathered some of our gallery’s most distinctive and representative artists. We invite you to enjoy their Weirdos Worlds.

Founded in 2008 by Motoko Ota (Owner) and oki-chu. (Painter / Director), the gallery is currently based in Okachimachi, Tokyo. While primarily focusing on painting, it plans and operates exhibitions by artists who are not bound by categories or specific forms of expression, and also develops projects that translate these works into various products.
The gallery’s core concept is “Japanese Lowbrow Art.” Rather than what is considered mainstream “high art,” it embraces art that emerges from its periphery—art of the people. By doing so, the gallery aims to communicate the direct joy and excitement of “drawing” and “viewing” art, offering encounters with what can be described as art driven by personal taste and sensibility.
