Intimate portraits of people immersed in water before sunrise—held in moments of stillness and quiet reflection.
Shot over three years, Finding Ground is about returning to something essential. A personal ritual that became a shared experience.
It’s about reconnecting—with self, with others, and with the elemental.

Keith Rose, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, August 2022.

Keith comes from a long line of fishermen dating back to the Mayflower. His life has been defined by his deep connection to the ocean, where he’s become well-acquainted with its dangers.

“I sank twice on other sea clam boats,” Rose said. “I was rescued by the Coast Guard twice. I swam through oil.”

The day I nearly drowned is the day I began to fall in love with water, our earth, and this playground called life. @finding.ground is a series of portraits illustrating how I see our relationship with climate change.
