On Wednesday, students in Mrs. Dotson’s class at Wirt County High School participated in the Mid-Ohio Valley Workforce Development Mock Interview Session.

Students had the opportunity to sit down with local employers from Chemours, Somerville Industries, MPLX, D. Beyers & Associates, and HINO—answering interview questions, receiving feedback, and gaining valuable insight into how to improve and stand out.

A huge thank you to these industry partners for taking the time to invest in our students and share their knowledge.

We also want to thank WVU Parkersburg for hosting the day and providing students with a campus tour and a financial literacy workshop, making it a full day of hands-on learning and career exploration!

Our Northern Regional Awards Ceremony at River City Ale House was filled with energy, creativity, and a whole lot of school spirit.

@tyler_consolidated_ms brought that spirit home, earning the Team Spirit Award for their work with @wissmach_glass in the Graphic Design Challenge.

Sherrard Middle School was recognized as a Future Maker of Manufacturing for their commitment to giving students meaningful, hands-on experiences and exposure to career opportunities.

We also recognized two incredible educators, Bricie Brannan and Aaron Fedorke, with the Outstanding Industry Educator Award, and honored Ryan Kettler as our Emerging Elite in Manufacturing.

A big thank you to our keynote speaker, Dr. Natasha Smith (CONSOL Innovations, LLC), and to Jason Wilburn of Paul Wissmach Glass Co — Explore board member and industry partner to Tyler Consolidated Middle School — for helping us recognize our students on stage.

@tyler_consolidated_ms brought that spirit home, earning the Team Spirit Award for their work with @wissmach_glass in the Graphic Design Challenge.

Sherrard Middle School was recognized as a Future Maker of Manufacturing for their commitment to giving students meaningful, hands-on experiences and exposure to career opportunities.

We also recognized two incredible educators, Bricie Brannan and Aaron Fedorke, with the Outstanding Industry Educator Award, and honored Ryan Kettler as our Emerging Elite in Manufacturing.

A big thank you to our keynote speaker, Dr. Natasha Smith (CONSOL Innovations, LLC), and to Jason Wilburn of Paul Wissmach Glass Co — Explore board member and industry partner to Tyler Consolidated Middle School — for helping us recognize our students on stage.

Thank you to Emily Rouse — Explore board member — and Riley Carpenter for introducing the SCRAP program, and to John Mark Hefler of Covestro LLC for serving as panel moderator for our Educational Pathways for Industrial Careers discussion.

We’re also grateful to our board members and partners who joined us for the evening — including Dan Williams of Marsh Bellofram Corporation and John Trifonoff of East Coast Metal Systems Inc., whose companies partnered with local schools on this year’s projects.
