Do you love working with children and families? Need flexibility around school hours?

🎈 Custard Town is looking for enthusiastic, friendly and reliable Front of House Assistants to help create a warm, safe and fun experience for families visiting our interactive play space for children aged 6 and under.

📍 Exeter
🕒 Variable hours available (including weekends)
💷 £15.07 per hour (including holiday pay)
📅 Fixed-term contract up to 2 years
🚀 Start date: 22nd June 2026

You’ll help welcome families, support play sessions, assist with refreshments and help keep Custard Town running smoothly as part of the Exeter Community Initiatives team.

✨ We’re especially keen to hear from people who:
• Enjoy working with children and families
• Are approachable and confident with the public
• Can work weekends
• Care about inclusion, safeguarding and community

Experience in play spaces, cafés, childcare or customer service is a bonus — but enthusiasm and a positive attitude matter most!

Custard Town will be open 7 days a week, offering morning and afternoon sessions, dedicated SEN sessions, affordable pricing, monthly passes and free entry for babies under 9 months.

Families can also enjoy an on-site café serving hot drinks and cakes, with visitors welcome to bring their own food and drinks. ☕🍰

Alongside Exeter City Council, we’re proud to support this exciting new community-focused addition to Exeter city centre.

Visitors will also be welcomed by a striking new mural celebrating Devon wildlife, featuring two entwined otters, created by Exeter artist @chloefarrantart

Created for children aged 0–6, Custard Town is a safe, inclusive and interactive play space where little ones can explore, imagine and play — while families connect and feel part of a welcoming community.

From teddy bears’ picnics and sensory play to a mess-free art studio and mini disco, every corner of Custard Town has been designed to support creativity, development and fun ❤️

Alongside daily play sessions, there will also be dedicated SEN sessions, affordable entry prices, a cosy café space, and plenty of opportunities for families to relax and connect.

Custard Town continues the legacy of Little Exeter, building on the belief that accessible community play spaces are vital for children’s wellbeing, early development and reducing social isolation for families.

A huge thank you to Guildhall Shopping Exeter and Exeter City Council for helping bring this exciting new space into the heart of the city.

Water Station at The Great West Run.

We need 20 fantastic volunteers to help us run the station and hand out water to participants as they pass.

📍 Location: Water Station 3, Cowley Bridge Road

⏰ Runners expected between 9:30am – 11:10am
🕗 Volunteers arrive from 8:00am to help set up tables, water supplies, and any ECI branding.
