Here's my entry for the @dreadlabs Contest. I've made a Lookbook (+ Mini Brand Guideline) for a fictional rave on the London Underground as my entry into the competition since I am really into Jungle, DnB, Garage, House, Techno, etc. This play on the double-meaning of the word 'Underground' was really fun to make!

"Being British, the minute you hear the word 'Underground', people here think of 'the Tube', and I wanted to play on an interesting idea of every carriage having a new DJ and set onboard whilst people dance down the length of the train carriages, and people being able to hop off at platforms from one train, and hopping onto a new train with a new set and a new DJ. 

In this country, there's a lot of division at the moment, but the one thing that brings people together is music. Britain has been a pioneer for underground rave culture since the 80s, and we are very proud of that fact. Having grown up on Coldhams Lane, just a walk over the common to the Abbey, it comes as no surprise that I am incredibly overwhelmed and privileged to have been asked to work on the design for this commission. Before Christmas, I was able to witness the incredible @the.pit.orchestra live score to Sergei Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin (1925). Not only did I get to rewatch one of my favourite classical films through a new lens, but I got to work on the physical release of the score.

Working with the amazing Visual Score by Alessia Anastassopulos, I dreamt of a constructivist design that wrapped around the panels of the digipack and played the film from start to end on the package.

We had to give it that Pit Orchestra twist, so I blended and overlayed the score onto my own strong, geometric shapes to echo the ethos of the crew; eclectic, collective involvement, and the embrace of imperfection.

Final spec: 6-Panel digipack with Soft Touch matte lamination. Single colour screen printed disc.

Dawid at DMMX wanted a logo refresh for his company that has served motorcycle enthusiasts and Motorcross athletes for over 25 years. I was more than happy to get stuck in, and come up with some options.

Dawid wanted something that was more practical for print and socials than the previous logo, but something that would still look slick on the side of a bike or on the bike of a helmet. Mission complete ✅

Long time, no see Instagram 👋🏻 Fun little logo and business card brief from DMMX Motorcycles a few months ago.

Dawid at DMMX wanted a logo refresh for his company that has served motorcycle enthusiasts and Motorcross athletes for over 25 years. I was more than happy to get stuck in, and come up with some options.

Dawid wanted something that was more practical for print and socials than the previous logo, but something that would still look slick on the side of a bike or on the bike of a helmet. Mission complete ✅

Super stoked to be given the chance to design some cover art for the absolute slapper, Pneumatic, by @variatednbuk. The track gave me some serious industrial vibes, so as a Brutalist fanboy, I went in with something dark, heavy, and dingey. Just the way we like our dnb to be.

I love the way the colours and gridwork came out on this one, and with some texturing in photoshop to polish it off, I think it's a fitting debut for my work on Spotify 👊🏻 big ups

Cowboy Bebop is probably the coolest show I have ever watched, with displays of martial arts set to Jazz breakdowns, dogfights in space, and a gorgeous art style to boot. So, I thought why not? I leaned heavily into the 90s Anime vibe with the typeface choices, using a combination of Muscle, Adequate, Kamikaze, AltaCalifornia, Engebrechte, VDL, TA-F1, and finally, Body Grotesque. Topped off with a few pictures and key colours from the show, it all came together nicely in a cheeky "space walk" mock up.
