LET’S DEVIATE (2026)
Multimedia installation
[Documentation I]
Let’s Deviate is a multimedia installation that comprises fabrics, photographic images and texts. It was created in collaboration with Designer and Maker Eli Agrup @eliagrup and Graphic Designer Linnea Frank @lin.illustration and with all the audience members who interacted with it.
Made from the perspective of a queer polyamory relationship, the work is an invitation to question marriage and romantic love as patriarchal and capitalist constructs and create space for sexual and affective networks as alternatives to monogamy. And it was developed with an autoethnographic methodology, as it looks at the points where personal biographies intersect broader cultural and socio-political issues.
Let’s Deviate also questions the notion of artwork as something that has one fixed form predetermined by the artist and explores the potential of an artwork to be shaped in a multiplicity of ever-changing forms, as it invites the audience to be an active part of it by moving the fabrics and connecting them to create new forms.
It also questions notions of hierarchy between artist and audience, by enabling the viewer to become a collaborator.
