The morning opened with @jamie.a.adam at the helm of this month’s @continentaljamselection , welcoming producer and pianist @maniko_02 to the breakfast table ahead of Natural Jazz at @tatecornerbar this Friday.

Framed by an expansive and considered jazz selection, the conversation unfolded as both reflection and projection, tracing Maniko’s musical journey while exploring the role of improvisation and live jam spaces in shaping a practice that moves fluidly between performance and production. The dialogue extended into the evolving jazz landscape of Newcastle, situating personal growth within a wider, community-led scene, before touching on forthcoming releases and ambitions still in motion.

Getting the party started for our very first Alphabet Soup, Jamie Adam, founder of @continentaljamselection will be taking to the decks, there’ll be soul there’ll be disco and he’s even promised us a 70s shirt (which we will absolutely be holding him to)
