An honour to work alongside Commodo and Black Acre developing the artwork for Deep Harbour!

Early doors in the design process I was looking at pictures of phytoplankton bloom from satellite imagery - thinking about these amazing patterns from deep sea and if I could create anything like them in ink and water.

In the studio we started by printing ink blocks onto sections of darker card stocks and then drenched them in water baths letting them dry out in sections - the outcome was a series of large pattern sections we them scanned, picking up the finer texture and tonal variations at detail.

Pleasure to get together with Alfa to do ACRE100. I’ve been a fan of his for some time and I’d had this idea that I didn’t really think he’d be up for, one being a more melodic expansion on that like late 2000’s evolution of dubstep where you’d hear a lot of electric piano, and the other being a way darker, dissonant take on a jazz flavoured half-step. Full EP drops 27th March including two remixes by Anz! @anzieanz has such a broad range as a producer and felt like the perfect remixer ..with two totally different takes here 👊
