Fourth single from Katia and Marielle Labèque’s new album, Bryce Dessner’s Goiza Larrunen is a solo piano piece inspired by the Basque landscapes dear to the composer. Its title, meaning “morning on La Rhune,” refers to the mountain overlooking his family home. First imagined as a lullaby played four hands with his son, the piece takes on new depth under the hands of Marielle Labèque. Recorded as a world premiere, it unfolds an intimate, hypnotic atmosphere balancing lyricism and refined writing.

Je to symfonická báseň, obraz přírody coby tichého svědka lidského bytí, je to drama i tiché rozjímání.

Je to violoncellový koncert Trembling Earth, neboli Chvějící se země. A takto zní v podání Anastasie Kobekiny, pro kterou byl napsán. 💙

Konzerthaus Berlin’s composer in residence Bryce Dessner brings together friends from across his musical universe for a special evening of musical collaborations at Konzerthaus’ Kleiner Saal.

Luminous French folk singer Mina Tindle headlines the set, performing songs from her hugely successful new album Compass Rosa.

She is joined on stage by Bryce and critically-acclaimed folk artist Kate Stables (aka This Is the Kit).

Meanwhile renowned soloist James McVinnie performs Bryce’s solo piano works as well as selections from Bryce’s Academy Award-nominated score to Train Dreams, and is also joined on stage by string quartet Quatuor Zaïde.

Meanwhile multi-instrumentalist Benjamin Lanz and Olivier Marguerite weave their magic throughout to complete the line-up. Bridging genre boundaries, this concert promises an intimate, unforgettable experience.
