The inflated cave work by @jr has finally arrived to Pont Neuf ⛓️

Completed in 1607, Pont Neuf is Paris’ first bridge in Paris built without wood – instead constructed from Lutetian limestone, or Paris stone 🥖

JR’s design is intended to emulate quarries in the Paris Basin, from which Paris stone was extracted to create the bridge. It’s also a nod to Christo and Jeanne-Claude, who wrapped the bridge in fabric 41 years ago 🌪️

The tunnel officially opens on June 6 - our countdown has begun 🐾

Here’s how it works: Libertíny builds the frame, hands it to 60,000 bees, and waits (sometimes 2 years!) for a honeycomb sculpture to emerge. They may look fragile, but beeswax is one of nature’s most durable materials, capable of lasting thousands of years… 🛕
