The moody PNW 🌲⛰️🤎
It was fun to have a different perspective of the mountains. A majority of this backpacking trip was rainy or there were mist clouds rolling through. We were shown the harsh & ever-changing climate the mountains endure first hand. The best part? It was still just as beautiful (in it’s own way) 🌧️

When was the last time you let the sun hit your face and really took the time to FEEL it? What about the last time you ran your fingers through the grass, or maybe, noticed your reflection in the water? When was the last time you were simply existing and had the thought, “Man, life is good”?
I read something once that said, “To understand the world, we must learn to take absolutely nothing for granted”. So I started living by that motto. I’ve learned very quickly that when you stop to notice the little things and really appreciate them in their rawness, it becomes so easy to see the beauty that exists in quite literally everything. So if you were wondering the last time I had that thought, well, it’s pretty much everyday.

The place of inspiration, power, awe, desire & ease
Every time I’m here, I’m so overcome with emotions. Particularly this day, I sat in front of El Cap from mid morning until the sun had set, watching climbers fight their way up the wall. Feeling proud of people I have never met and probably will never meet (I may have shed a few tears for them as well).
I watched a team reach the top and thought about their emotions - ecstatic to reach the top? maybe also sadness that their grand journey was over? grateful to accomplish something so big, together, with a friend? most likely all of the above.
I watched someone take a large fall from under a roof & their yell echoed through the valley. They’ll remember that forever, I surely will.
I encourage anyone visiting the valley to take time to observe the wall & the climbers - it’s pretty cool✨
