Free Leonard Peltier has been picked up by @Netflix!

The film will stream on the platform starting Oct. 12, and tells the story of Peltier, a young leader of the American Indian Movement in the 1970s, who was convicted of a brutal crime based on falsified evidence.

The film from Jesse Short Bull and David France also tracks the decades-long efforts to secure the release of Peltier from prison.

HBO Documentary Films has begun production on a documentary series exploring the Zizians, a cult-like enigmatic group of young technologists linked to a series of violent crimes across the U.S. between 2022 and 2025.

Based on reporting by Tessa Stuart for Rolling Stone, the as-yet untitled series, directed by Matthew Galkin (One Night in Idaho, Murder in the Bayou) and produced by XTR in collaboration with Rolling Stone Films, will debut onHBO and will stream on HBO Max.
