Year 2000 Björk said she wanted to portray a girl whose life is sinking. Darkness everywhere. No return. But she doesn’t fight it, she surrenders. And inside that surrender she builds another way of life, a little dream.

We built the set by hand for days with friends. Sank the bedroom into the cold water and started to shoot. Kate Bush playing. Loudly. Over and over.

At some point Björk cut her finger on broken glass. I stopped and said let’s get a Band Aid.
She said please don’t stop , let it bleed.
We didn’t stop. It was almost trance like moment.

Photographs represent a certain thing to an audience. A story they see and form in their imaginationwich is inevitable. But the moment represents so much more to me. I sometimes feelif the process of making an image maybe means more to me than the photograph it self ?
